Watch the video and put these words into the correct gap: dirty, hefty, cooked, gotta, intimidated, stove, awesome
It’s Turkey Day! And before tasting the bird – EVERYONE had to talk about it. Even the president. Here’s MSNBC.
OBAMA: “Today I have the _______ responsibility of granting a presidential pardon to a pair of turkeys”
OBAMA: “25 were selected for a final competition that involved strutting their stuff before a panel of judges with an eclectic mix of music playing in the background.”
Early morning CBS and NBC got to cooking. First — Maggie Rodriguez with her best breast rubbing tips.
CBS EARLY SHOW
RODRIGUEZ: “A lot of people are _______ by that and I want to show you there’s nothing to be afraid of…so you lift the skin, you rub the breast and then you just get in there (you’ve done that before!)—get in there. Get in there good. Get your hands nice and _______ —and that will produce a bird that’s more flavorful and more tender?”
SAMUELSSON: “Absolutely!”
NBC TODAY SHOW
FLORENCE: “Roasting a bird whole actually destroys the texture of the turkey, because people want to cook it all the way through to the bone, and what happens is by the time the bones are _______ all the way through, the texture of the turkey is completely destroyed. It’s dried out. So don’t waste your time, it ruins the turkey. Cut it in half.”
And on ABC, a live reporter tries to keep you safe while whipping up your holiday meal. This, friends, is what you call – a fail.
REPORTER: “Get your oven mitts on. Put the lid right on it like that. Turn the _______ off. But anything larger than this, authorities urge you to get out, call (fire shoots out of pan behind her) 911—ooh! you can see how dangerous this is—and let firefighters like this one do their job.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: (laughs) “How did that happen right there? You _______ be careful.”
REPORTER: “Yeah, this is serious.”
Great tip. Finally, CNN has a serious Debbie downer on its hands.
REPORTER: “That turkey and stuffing are also going to come along with a _______ serving of drama at the dinner table. iVillage did a survey showing that 68% of women are predicting they’re going to see a big family fight during Thanksgiving.”
While the media’s talking turkey, we hope you’re enjoying time with friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Newsy.
