We use “had better” (= ´d better) to give strong advice. It is followed by infinitive without to. Have a look at the following examples:
You´d better not get home late again.
The train leaves at 6. You´d better start packing now!
You´d better tidy up this mess before your parents get home or they will kill you.
Remember had better is quite direct so don´t use it in polite requets/recommendations.
